The 5th Annual Tee UP High Golf Tournament continues to be a successful fund-raising event. We had been blessed with a very good weather that day. The tournament was supported by enthusiastic golf players, most of whom had been playing in our tournament since we started in 2010.
The UPAA Toronto would like to thank its major sponsors, Scotiabank and UPian Dr. Mario Andres who had been supporting the tournament for the last 5 events. We also would like to thank the many sponsors and donors who willingly contributed to the cause of the tournament. Thank you also to those who gave raffle prizes that made the Awarding Ceremony a fun event.
Congratulations to the winning foursome (Andrei Bernabe, Dickson Lau, Solomon Amoako, Thong Du) and runner up (Anisur Salim, Michael Manaois, Don Murphy, Dave Vannus). Other winners include: Closest to the Hole (Men) – Fred Drake; Closest to the Hole (Women) – Evelyn Krakauer; Longest Drive (Men) – Andrew Milne; and Longest Drive (Women) – Evelyn Krakauer.
Last but not the least, I would like to personally thank my Council members who made sure that the event is successful – Dhing Simbulan, Delfin Palileo, Danny Vizmanos, Fred Gamboa, Rose Nagallo, Beth Vasquez, Michelle Montojo, Marie Chris Rosali, Mary Ann San Juan, Paulina Corpus.
Special thanks to Theresa Lumanlan who donated the empanada for the players, Marilou Parcero, our dynamic and ever charming MC of the Awards Night, Frank Cruzet for donating his painting and doing rounds in the golf course, Chelo and Cherry, sisters of Marie, who assisted in the putting contest and did a round of water for the players. We would not have generated enough funds for the raffle prizes if not for the energetic and very able raffle ticket sellers – Daisy Bernabe, Minda Mendoza, Lita Zagala, Theresa Lumanlan. Also would like to thank Joe Zagala and Bay Bernabe for being our technical advisers. And of course, to Rene Sevilla who had shared his wonderful photos and Romy Herrera, for the video and technical presentations.
THANK YOU ALL and hope to see you again in our next tournament.
PS – Let me know if I missed anyone.
